TitleCopy letter from Arthur William Rucker, to Professor William Ramsay, [Fellow of the Royal Society]
Date4 November 1897
DescriptionRucker is directed by Council to send the enclosed correspondence [not attached] for the information of the Coral Reef Committee. Professor Anderson Stuart's letter appears to be based upon a misconception as the fact that the Royal Geographical Society of Australia had expressed its intention of placing the core at the disposal of the Royal Society was stated in a letter from Professor David dated 26th April 1897. Stuart's letter has been formally acknowledged and he has been informed that it has been referred to the Coral Reef Committee. Has been asked to tell Ramsay to look at the paragraphs which refer to the Coral Reef Committee in the enclosed Draft Report of Council [not enclosed], and to make such alterations as may bring it up to date.
