Title | Copy extract of a letter from Captain Burrard, to [William Henry Mahoney Christie, Astronomer Royal, Fellow of the Royal Society] |
Date | 23 September 1897 |
Description | Would like to know as soon as possible the name of Christie's steamer [for the Eclipse party]. Also wants plans and sections of the pillars as they have to be built before Christie's arrival and the masonry materials may take time to collect. Regarding covering for the instruments he would like instructions as to materials and dimensions as soon as possible. The dark rooms are being made in Calcutta now and mechanics have been detailed to attend the camps. |
