TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Professor Silvanus Phillips Thompson, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date8 January 1898
DescriptionIs authorized, in anticipation of the decision of Council, to allow Thompson to have photographic reproductions of [Michael] Faraday's certificate of candidature and his indenture of apprenticeship. Presumes Thompson can make the necessary arrangements or can arrange for Collings to undertake the work. In reply to Thompson's enquiry Faraday served on the Council, in 1828, 1829, 1830, 1833 and 1835. Supposes Thompson saw Faraday's memorandum relating to his marriage and that Thompson has seen the head of Faraday which Harrison has in his room. It is the original plaster life model of Foley's statue, and if Thompson wanted to reproduce it, Harrison does not think there would be any difficulty.
