DescriptionThe Royal Society has been involved in directing a research project in to the solution of certain geological problems by the boring of a Coral Reef at Funafuti in the South Pacific Ocean. The investigation was begun in 1896 by an expedition sent out directly from England and has been continued by an expedition sent out from Sydney in 1897. The latter expedition received valuable and timely aid from B G Corney, Chief Medical Officer, Suva, Fiji, and would like the Society's gratitude to be passed on to him.
