TitleCopy letter from Arthur William Rucker, to Mr Francis Galton, Fellow of the Royal Society, 42 Rutland Gate, S.W.
Date24 June 1898
DescriptionGalton is already aware that the Council of the Royal Society has appointed a Committee to consider the application of the Meteorological Council for support in a request that an additional £1200 a year be granted to the Meteorological Council by the government.

The Committee (which consists of the President and Officers, Captain Abney, Professor W G Adams, Professor Clifton, Mr A B Kempe, Lord Rayleigh and Professor Schuster) has held a meeting and would like to obtain further information. Rucker therefore asks Galton with Sir Richard Strachey to attend a meeting of the Committee. A letter to the same effect has been sent to Strachey.
