TitleCopy letter from Michael Foster, to the Secretary, Charity Commission, Whitehall, S.W.
Date14 December 1898
DescriptionWith reference to the Secretary's letter of the 14th July, and replying to the Secretary's subsequent letter of the 23rd enclosing a draft scheme for the administration of the Chelsea Physic Garden, Foster is directed to state that the President and Council of the Society so far approve of the proposals embodied in the scheme that they are prepared to nominate a representative on the Committee of Management.

Since it seems undesirable to put any restrictions on the kind of botany to be studied in the garden, the words 'Systematic Botany and Vegetable Physiology' in clause two(b), should be replaced by the words 'Botany including Vegetable Physiology'. Also suggests adding the words 'and research' after 'demonstration' in clause three. Encloses a copy of the draft scheme with these modifications marked upon it [not attached].
