TitleCopy letter from Michael Foster, to Sir John Evans, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date27 April 1899
DescriptionRelates to the accompanying paper [not enclosed] by Mr Budge which was referred by the Physics and Chemistry Sectional Committee to the Committee of Papers to decide whether it is the kind of paper that should be accepted by the [Royal] Society. It was then decided to send it to two referees.

Two questions to be answered: whether the astronomical apart from the archaeological interest of the paper is such as to lead Evans to recommend it for publication in the 'Philosophical Transactions [of the Royal Society]' or even accepted; and whether it is necessary or desirable to publish further applications and illustrations of principles and methods which have already been fully covered, since the Society has already published two papers on Orientation.
