TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Professor Thomas Carnelley, University College, Dundee
Date3 February 1888
DescriptionRix notes the receipt of Carnelley's two papers and their abstracts from Sir H Roscoe.

From the inclusion of abstracts Rix infers that he wishes both papers to be considered for publication in 'Philosophical Transactions', but explains that as one of the papers is small and therefore more suitable for 'Proceedings of the Royal Society' he wonders if Carnelley is aware that a paper with an abstract is assumed to be intended for 'Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society' and without for 'Proceedings'. Rix asks for clarification of this, further noting that both papers will be sent to referees if intended for 'Philosophical Transactions'.
