TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Professor George Gabriel Stokes, President of the Royal Society
Date10 March 1888
DescriptionSir James Crichton-Browne has written to request a Privy Counsellors form certificate be signed and returned. Rix enquires concerning the usual form in such matters, noting that it has been the custom for such a certificate to be filled up in the Office and only signed by members of the Royal Society Council, with an entry made in the Journal Book. Lord Sudely's certificate was the first to have had a mixed signature. Before Rix supplies the certificate to Crichton-Browne he wishes to have Stokes' instructions on the matter.
