TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Professor Michael Foster [Royal Society]
Date5 April 1888
DescriptionIn reference to Foster's instructions about Brown and Schafer [Edward Albert Schafer]'s paper, Rix notes that before getting an estimate or putting the authors in communication with the engraver, he would like to remind him of Dr Brunton's recommendations. If the recommendation is followed, Rix suggests Meisenbach & Company would be best to work on Schafer's work, and states that even if the drawings are to be reproduced, they could be done so by photography undertaken by Meisenbach & Company or the Autotype Company rather than Collings. Rix asks to know what is to be photographed before proceeding.

Also reports that they have received a letter from the Foreign Office on behalf of their Patent Office asking for 'Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society' and 'Proceedings of the Royal Society'. Rix does not believe an exchange of publications would be valuable, but suggests that the matter can wait.
