TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Henry Bury, Zoological Laboratory, Naples
Date16 May 1888
DescriptionRecords that two sets of proofs and the original drawings have been sent by Parcel Post, with the originals and one set of proofs to be returned with corrections.

The variation in the printing of the proofs is to enable Bury to make a selection of the colour which he believes to best suit the work. Rix notes that in the case of plate 5, if there is no preference, the Royal Society would prefer the version with black lines due to its lower cost. If Bury labels his plates alphabetically, they will later substitute the proper numbers when they are fixed. Rix also notes that a duplicate proof of text has been sent, and he wishes for any references to plates to be filled in and returned with the correct plates.
