TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Lord Rayleigh [John William Strutt], [Royal Society]
Date18 October 1888
DescriptionRix notes that the Government Grant applications and Mr Forsyth's proof are to hand, and Rayleigh's instructions on the latter have been noted.

He has noticed that Sir William Thomson's report on Professor Darwin is not among the reports to hand, and asks whether it is among the Royal Society papers at Terling. The report was only brief, so it is of no great consequence if it is not there. Rix also asks that he read the enclosed paper [not included] from H Brereton Baker as it is first on the register, and Rix wishes to tell him that it will be read on 15 November at the first meeting. Professor William Grylls Adams has reported on Ramsay and Young's paper and does not recommend it for 'Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society'.
