| Description | In response to Carnelley's letter, Rix notes that there is no evidence that the proof they sent to him was returned to the Royal Society. He will ask the printers to send a duplicate copy to Carnelley, and if it contains his latest corrections he will ensure it is published in 'Proceedings of the Royal Society'. Rix believed that Carnelley was still undertaking experiments 'for demonstrating that some of the microorganisms do not pass away into the exit tube', and he supposes from the letter he received that these were completed in May. Rix asks for reassurance, as the paper was passed for publication on the condition of this having been carried out. |
