Description | Rix is uncertain from Buchanan's note to Dr Michael Foster, whether he wants the cloth-bound parts sent as they are issued, or the separate papers posted to him.
Rix notes that the Minute of Council advertised in 'Proceedings of the Royal Society' is not well worded, but should indicate that Fellows of the Society can not only have 'Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society' posted to them paper by paper as before, but those who put their names down for the cloth-bound parts can, if they wish, have them sent as issued rather than having to fetch or send for them. Rix again asks for clarification on whether he wishes to have the cloth parts or separate papers sent as issued, as the former are not yet due, but there are a number of the latter which could be posted. Rix finally states 'Only of course you cannot have both'. |
