Rix believes, having examined Dr Naumann's paper and its large charts, thinks that it may have been intended for 'Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society' although it was not accompanied by an abstract. As there is uncertainty, Rix has asked Professor Perry if he knows before he sends it to Professor Rücker.
Asks whether he should write to Professor Lodge and explain that they cannot read Dr Gore's papers until they receive his answer, and so would be glad to receive his report in less than the usual month allowed to referees.
Rix perhaps ought to have bought Professor Hennessy's paper to Rayleigh's notice, but he is going on with it as it is due to be read next week. The risk is low as it is only two and a half foolscap pages. |
