TitleCopy letter from Michael Foster, to Dr E P Ramsay, Australian Museum, Sydney, New South Wales
Date19 January 1889
DescriptionSir Richard Owen's paper on 'the skull of an extinct carnivorous Marsupial of the size of a leopard (Thylacopardus Australis, Owen) from a recently opened cave near the 'Wellington cave' locality, New South Wales' was referred to the Royal Society Committee of Papers. A resolution was communicated by them to the Council that they should apply to Ramsay for the loan of a specimen for the inspection of referees, and for 'permission to figure it should it be thought desirable'. The President and Council therefore ask whether Ramsay is willing to loan the specimen, noting that great care would be taken, and the expenses of transit and insurance covered by the Society.
