TitleCopy letter from Michael Foster, to the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, The Foreign Office, S.W.
Date11 May 1900
DescriptionWith reference to Professor [Arthur William] Rucker's letter of 13 March and the Under Secretary's letter of 7 May, the astronomers have decided to watch the solar eclipse in Santa Pola. It is probably desirable that the officials at Santa Pola should be informed of the expected arrival of the party of observers. Suggests the authorities at Madrid be informed by the telegraph that 'HMS Theseus' will proceed direct to Santa Pola and anchor there on 17 May.

Thanks the Foreign Office on behalf of the President and Council for the steps the Foreign Office has already taken to secure facilities for the observers.
