DescriptionNotes Wood's letter of 1 April acquainting the Society with the terms of the will of the late Dr Charles Piazzi Smyth and stating that Smyth's executors consider the bequest of £300 as having been satisfied by the arrangement come to between Smyth and the Society as set forth in Wood's letter of 30 May 1896, and in the reply from Herbert Rix, 6 November 1896. The President and Council have resolved to renounce the claims of the Society to the bequest.
