TitleCopy letter from Lord Joseph Lister, to Right Honourable R W Hanbury, Financial Secretary to Her Majesty's Treasury
Date28 June 1900
Description[Copy letter crossed through and annotated 'See N.P.L. book folio 96']. Lister has seen a statement in the papers to the effect that a deputation was recently laid before Hanbury, arguing against the erection of the building of the National Physical Laboratory [NPL] in the Old Deer Park, Richmond. The Royal Society wish to explain why the establishment of the NPL on that site is of the greatest importance if the Society is to cope successfully with the task it has undertaken at the request of Her Majesty's Government. Hopes Hanbury will consent to receive a deputation from the Society at an early date on the matter.
