TitleCopy letter from Alfred Bray Kempe, to Lord [Lionerl Walter] Rothschild
Date20 July 1900
DescriptionThe Council of the Royal Society having referred the question of the investment of the Sylvester Fund to the Finance Committee of the Royal Society, that Committee has decided the fund ought to be invested in the name of the Society, in the same manner as other similar funds which the Society now administers; it should be invested in trustee securities. Before the present investment of the Fund is changed, the Committee would be obliged if Rothschild could advise if it would be desirable at once to effect the sale of the securities in which the fund is now invested, or whether it would be better to wait until later in the year. Council does not meet again until the end of October so the purchase of fresh securities would not be effected before that date.
