Description | Is dismayed to learn Griggs had printed off the whole order without waiting for the Society's approval. Cannot undertake to accept copies which they have not approved. Plate I is a fairly correct reproduction but as it stands plate II is a failure; the colours do not match. This plate is worthless as it stands and could not be published. Asks for fresh proofs of plate II.
This delay is causing the Society extreme inconvenience and Harrison asks the Messrs to expedite the remaining work. Returns the rejected plate herewith [not attached], and will return the other with instructions for any further lettering, when both are ready. |
