TitleCopy letter from Michael Foster, to Dr E C Jeffrey, Toronto, Canada
Date4 October 1901
DescriptionStates the title of Jeffrey's paper 'The Structure and Development of the Stem in the Pteriodphyta and Gymnosperms' [presumably concerning acceptance for publication]. A postscript states publication is contingent on the reduction of the number of plates from nine to six and suggests how this reduction might be achieved.

Notes that Jeffrey does not base his argument from O. cinnamomea on any evidence given of continuous observations of series of sections of young plants. In the conclusions the text is not always clear and provides an example. Foster will be glad to hear from Jeffrey whether he is prepared to modify the paper in accordance with the aformentioned recommendations and the manuscript can then be sent for this purpose.
