TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Professor Robert Bellamy Clifton, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date23 November 1901
DescriptionIs authorized by the Secretaries to refer Clifton to a difficulty regarding the paper 'on the Capacity for Heat of Water' by Dr [Howard Turner] Barnes of Toronto. Professor [Hugh Longbourne] Callendar has offered to add to the paper a preface and a discussion of the method and results. Callendar has now sent in a preface but wishes this to be described as 'Continuous Electrical Calorimetry' authored by him. The preface would occupy about 80 pages of the 'Philosophical Transactions [of the Royal Society]' and has six new figures. The cost of publication would be about £45.10.0 and the total cost of Barnes' paper as amended with Callendar's contribution would be about £135.

Queries if Callendar's preface ought to be treated as a separate paper, can send Callendar's paper if desired.
