TitleCopy letter from Sir Michael Foster, to The Secretary of State, War Office
Date4 June 1903
DescriptionPresident and Council have, with the aid of a Committee of Fellows expert in pathological matters, very carefully considered their letter of 9 May. The Committee advises the President and council that a judgment on Dr Wright's prophylactic fluid must in the main be based on an appreciation of published statistics, and they are not specially qualified to undertake such a task. The Royal Society regrets they cannot help Mr Broderick in this instance.

Dr Macfadyen's investigations on the subject are only in an initiatory stage, and the question of applicability to man cannot be discussed without further investigation.
