Description | Regarding publication of the portion of the International Astrographic Chart, which has been completed at the Oxford University Observatory, the University Press are unable to undertake the work unless with the assistance toward the cost of its publication. The Royal Society approached H M Treasury asking the Stationary Office to help towards the publication.
The Royal Society have been unofficially informed by the Astronomer Royal that the cost undertaken by the Stationary Office would not exceed £1000, in place of the limit of £2000 mentioned to the Treasury, which was based on reports from the University Press. |
