Title | Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Adam Sedgwick, [Fellow of the Royal Society] Cambridge |
Date | 1 December 1902 |
Description | With further reference to Professor MacBride's paper, and in answer to Sedgwick's of 28 November, the proofs were dispatched from Montreal on 6 November. The situation would have been simplified had MacBride returned his manuscript and original plates with his proof. This he did not do although requested to do so. Accordingly the Society is unable to check the alterations and additions on the plates. When authors are inaccessible the Society is driven to consult the communicators of papers in order to save time. If Sedgwick thinks it desirable, no objection would be raised to the proof going back to Professor MacBride and MacBride would have to see a revise of both text and plates, unless the additions et cetera are very much cut down. Regarding the probable cost of the additions and alteration to the plates, Harrison thinks they will cost about a guinea. |
