Description | Referring to Sampson's letter concerning the subscription of University College, Liverpool, to the 'International Catalogue of Scientific Literature' with a request that the amount paid may be refunded, Harrison wishes to send a few lines of explanation.
Regrets that Sampson has found ambiguity in the circular sent out by the Royal Society. Explains that the Catalogue is a serial, the make up of each yearly issue, and the costs entailed. The agreement to subscribe for a complete set commits the subscriber to nothing more than the one subscription for one complete set, for one year. With this explanation Harrison hopes Sampson's committee can see its way to take first first set for 1901, to judge whether it may not be feasible for the College to continue to receive these indices. |
