TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Professor William Dobinson Halliburton, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date7 January1903
DescriptionWith reference to the paper by Miss Sowton and Mr J S Macdonald, Harrison had an opportunity just before Christmas of seeing Professor Sherrington who communicated the paper. Sherrington was distinctly adverse to the paper going in as for the 'Philosophical Transactions [of the Royal Society]' and said he would write direct to Halliburton on the subject with a view to obtaining special consideration by the Sectional Committee of the question of publishing in the 'Proceedings [of the Royal Society]', not withstanding its length. Does not know if Halliburton has heard from Sherrington but presumes the matter will have to come before Halliburton's Committee and shall be glad to know in the meantime if it should be referred to any members of the Committee or other Fellows for consideration.
