Description | In reply to Riddell's note of 15 June Harrison thanks her for the kind thought of the Society in sending the scientific books of the late Major General Riddell. Harrison will lay these before the Library Committee. In view of the crowded state of the library Harrison is not certain that a place will be found for all the books, particularly in the case of a good many which are duplicates of works already in the Society's possession. Asks in these cases if Riddell would be willing to allow the Society to hand over such books to other scientific institutions to which they might prove of great value.
In answer to Riddell's query, Major Riddell was, at the time of his death, the Senior Fellow of the Society. |
