TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Dr Ernest Bashford, Cancer Research Fund
Date1 February 1904
DescriptionHarrison reports that he was unhappy to discover the publication of Bashford's paper in the British Medical Journal as no copy of the paper was sent there by the Royal Society, and reiterates that the sole condition under which such journals receive advance copies of Royal Society papers is that authoritative proofs are sent directly from the Society. In fact Harrison stopped the Lancet from publishing the paper as there was no time to provide the British Medical Journal with a corrected copy, and the Lancet are understandably irritated at what has occurred. Futhermore, it is likely that the premature publication will make it ineligible for inclusion in Proceedings of the Royal Society.
