Title | Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Professor Hugh Longbourne Callendar, Fellow of the Royal Society |
Date | 5 February 1904 |
Description | Harrison explains that they would like a meeting of the Physics Chemistry Committee the following week so that it might make a recommendation of a subject for the Bakerian Lecture ready for Council on 16 February. Thursday could be problematic as Harrison and Joseph Larmor are occupied by an Officers' meeting until after 3pm.
If Callendar believes business would be concluded between 3 and 4pm, Harrison suggests that he immediately send a note to Larmor at Cambridge and ask, if he agrees, to telegraph the Royal Society. This would allow summonses to be sent the following day. If not, a day early the following week would be best, though Wednesday would be bad, and a Scientific Relief Committee meeting will be occurring on Monday or Tuesday. |
