TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to William Carruthers, Fellow of the Royal Society, 22 Chalmers Street, Edinburgh
Date16 February 1904
DescriptionHarrison names the Chairman of the Scientific Relief Committee as Professor Bonney, but states it is unfortunate that the application was not submitted directly as the Committee is to meet that afternoon, and though he can mention the case they cannot take action without the particulars.

He also explains that a note in the Circular about surplus stock of Proceedings of the Royal Society and the cost of looking for issues requested, referred to the work of making them up from the stock, which is in sheets, where necessary. This would involve considerable effort and so they would need to employ someone, but they cannot be exact about costs until they know the extent to which they will need to use the sheets to meet the applications, but he suspects they will be 'trifling'. He believes they will not charge for surplus copies for any period, except for the cost of carriage.
