TitleCopy letter from Joseph Larmor, to E T Dixon, Racketts, Hythe, Hants
Date9 June 1904
DescriptionLarmor refers to the matter of Dixon's 'Memoir on the Theory of Order', explaining the process by which it should be submitted for formal reading in order to publish it that summer, but stating that once read it will be retained by the Royal Society regardless of their decision about publication. He further states that it needs to be communicated by a Fellow, but suggests that as it is a philosophical matter it would be best to have one conversant with the subject to communicate it.

It is noted that the matter depends on the Mathematics Committee and the referees they appoint. The manuscript is being retained at the Society pending instruction from Dixon.
