TitleCopy letter from Joseph Larmor, to Mrs [Hertha] Ayrton
Date6 June 1904
DescriptionLarmor explains that at the previous day's meeting, his Royal Society colleagues have authorised him to place Ayrton's paper on ripple marks first on the list for 16 June, and to suggest that 10 minutes will be available for exposition, provided there is time in the meeting's programme. This was done as the paper's referees both believe it to be more suited to such a discussion that for a public soiree, due to their doubts concerning her reasoning and results.

Larmor therefore awaits the Council's confirmation prior to acting on the report of the Soiree Sub-Committee concerning her proposed oral exposition; meanwhile the Officers are ready to assist in arrangements for an exhibit 'of the usual kind'.
