Title | Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Professor Joseph Larmor, Secretary of the Royal Society |
Date | 10 October 1904 |
Description | Harrison has sent out a notice for the meeting at the Meteorological Office on Thursday, and hopes to have sent it to the right people. He sent it to people named in a report from the Antarctic Observations Committee to the Council to co-operate with the Meteorological Office in the preparation of the Antarctic Meteorological results. Archibald Geikie and Alfred Bray Kempe think the whole question wants putting on more control, and talk of a Committee being formed.
Some difficulty has already arisen with Captain Field at the Admiralty about the Magnetic Observations. There certainly was agreement with the Astronomical Society two or three years ago, to have off-prints of all the Royal Society's astronomical papers at their own expense. |
