TitleCopy letter from Archibald Geikie, to H Ferrar
Date25 November 1904
DescriptionAsks for a statement of Ferrar's claim for salary during the interval between the commencement of his work at the British Museum in pursuance of the arrangement made with the Royal Society, and the time when the trustees of the museum became responsible for further payment to him. The Royal Society undertook to pay him at a rate of £3 a week, and understood he would be in exactly the same position as the other Antarctic Observers employed in the Museum. If there has been any misunderstanding, the Royal Society is willing to abide by the decision of the Director of the Museum.

Glad to know that he has now catalogued his entire collection of specimens. On writing up his geographical notes, it would be desirable for him to have access to all the photographs, and to any maps and charts.
