Description | At the instruction of the Officers of the Royal Society, Rix is drawing up a list of prices for printing extra copies of plates for the authors' 'Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society' papers, as in future this will be charged to authors in addition to the existing charge for extra copies of the text. Rix therefore wishes to know the charge for printing and paper of plain lithograph plates and for lithograph plates in which tint has been used, providing examples in both cases.
The statement of charge should be exclusive of 'use of stones', lettering and revisions, and should be given 'per hundred', ignoring the examples of exceptional cases as he only needs a 'practical average' on which to base their charges to authors for extra copies. Rix asks for the information at once, so that he can prepare his statement for the Officers' meeting next Thursday morning. |
