TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix to Dr Thomas Lauder Brunton, [Fellow of the Royal Society]
Date17 April 1889
DescriptionRix is distressed by the accident that has befallen Brunton's paper and Mr Bakenham's paper, especially as it had escaped the attention of at least four people who passed the proofs. Rix does not know what has happened to the drawing, but suspects it is at their engravers, who, due to the pressure of work, have fallen behind. Alternatively, he asks whether Brunton has it, remembering that Michael Foster corresponded with Foster about it. Rix asks what Brunton wants them to do about the matter.

A postscript records that Brunton had not, as is desirable, marked in the transfer the position of the cut on the transfer. Rix also asks if the 250 copies of Brunton and Mr Macfayden's paper means that number of the abstract or of the full paper.
