TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to H L Harris, Royal Princess's Theatre, Oxford Street, W.
Date17 May 1889
DescriptionIn response to Harris's note of 15th, Rix sends thanks to Miss Grace Hawthorne for her generous offer, but explains that the Scientific Relief Fund is applicable to such a small number of cases that they do not appeal for funds from the general public or take advantage of offers such as those of Hawthorne. To accept would be to impose, but Rix states that their decision to decline the ticket benefit is from no lack of appreciation of Hawthorne's kindness or Mr Wilson Barrett's 'admirable acting'.
