TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Professor Michael Foster, [Royal Society]
Date29 May 1889
DescriptionRix states thatDr Robert Lendlmayer von Lendenfeld's first letter proposing publication of his monograph was read to the Royal Society Council on 18 November 1886 and included the Australian communication, but the first formal mention is not made until the minutes of the Lendenfeld Committee on 27 January 1887 which record the decision to postpone the purchase of 50 copies for 200 pounds by the Australian Museum, Sydney. This minute was brought before the Council on 28 April 1887, when they decided to accept the Australian Museum's offer.

Rix encloses his latest slip revise of the Government Grant report, and Foster's former slips of corrections to allow comparison. Rix suggests it is worth taking the time to get the matter right, considering it to act as a precedent for the future.
