TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to the Editor, Leisure Hour, 56 Paternoster Row
Date4 June 1889
DescriptionRix has had his attention drawn to an illustration in this month's 'Leisure Hour' which is an exact copy of the woodcut from Professor John Wesley Judd's illustration of the eruption of Krakatoa, as published in the Royal Society's report. There is no record of leave granted by the Society's Council for its use and there is no acknowledgement of the source in their publication, and so Rix asks for an explanation.

Encloses a circular advertising the work [not included], to allow them to rectify their omission of the picture's source details.
