TitleCopy letter from Michael Foster, to Dr Ramsay
Date7 June 1889
DescriptionFoster is glad to announce that, following many delays, the monograph by Dr Robert Lendlmayer von Lendenfeld on the 'Horny Sponges of Australia' is complete and with the binders.

As Ramsay will know, the authorities at Sydney undertook to receive 50 copies for his museum at a cost of 200 pounds. Although the expense was greater than expected they are keen to ensure its use, and so Foster is instructed to inform Ramsay that if he wants more copies for the museum, up to a limit such as 100 copies, the Royal Society will send them without any further payment needed. He points out that as the volume is priced at three pounds, their 200 pounds would purchase in excess of the original 50 copies in any case.

Copies are being presented to several institutions in Europe and America.
