TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Dr Robert Lendlmayer von Lendenfeld
Date21 June 1889
DescriptionRix informs Lendenfeld that the Committee for the publication of his monograph on horny sponges have decided to present copies to all the gentlemen named on his lists, and further provide 12 copies for Lendenfeld himself.

They regret to have learnt that Mr Collings, who undertook the work of the illustrations for him on the assumption that the Royal Society connection would be a guarantee of payment, has not yet been paid. Due to the Committee's feeling of indirect responsibility they have paid Collings the sum remaining from the original 300 pound grant, and decided that Lendenfeld's 12 copies will not be dispatched until Collings has been paid in full.

A postscript responds to his letter of 4 June to Michael Foster to state the published price of the volume to be £3, subject to the usual discount. The title page has gone to press, and the binding will be begun at once.
