Description | Acknowledges receipt of their letter of 23 September, and states that the two volumes have arrived and been acknowledged.
Rix notes that it has been so long since he visited to copy the Huygens letter that various changes have taken place at the Royal Society, including the retirement of Walter White and Rix's promotion to the vacated position. As a consequence, Rix is unable to personally undertake the correction of the proofs, but will try to get them done on de Haan's behalf, providing he provides them prior to the middle of October, before which is their quietest time. Rix will also try to help with letter number 830, and will entrust it with the assistant best suited to the task when he returns from vacation on 9 October, and send him with it to the British Museum. |
