TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Messrs Drake & Gorham, 2 Princes Mansion, Victoria Street, S.W.
Date23 October 1889
DescriptionRix states that their first Council meeting is the next day, and their man appears to have overlooked the repair of a table lamp in the officers' room, as all the other lamp repairs pointed out have been completed. He further notes that although the man sent is willing to do anything he is instructed, they would be glad if he would use his initiative more, noting that he is free to go the library and offices, and, in fact, has time to keep the lamps cleaner than he does. Rix asks that he dust the lamps before noon tomorrow.

Rix does not wish to complain too much, and suggests that the man they send is a 'good fellow' but perhaps too afraid of intruding. A postscript also emphasises the importance of repairing the lamp in the officers' room before tomorrow.
