Description | Rix has received their notes reserving the Whitehall Rooms on 30 November for the use of the Royal Society. Rix repeats his oral instructions about payment at the door in this letter, namely that they wish to retain the arrangements of previous years in only paying the bill for the invited guests of the Society, all of whom will bring cards of invitation. Fellows of the Society and personal guests will pay for themselves upon entrance.
Given that every attendee will either pay on the door or present an invitation card, the Society will not be held responsible for any mistake made by the clerks with regard to admittance. Rix suggests that they may wish to issues passes in an anteroom to avoid crowding and confusion, but states that the matter is one on which they need to decide. |
