TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Professor Michael Foster, [Royal Society]
Date29 October 1889
DescriptionRix is frustrated that Dr R von Lendenfeld is enquiring of his parcels with Foster, as well as continually asking Rix about them.

Rix outlines the case, explainly firstly that, as is their custom, the parcels went to agents, meaning that booksellers take the parcels and despatch them to foreign correspondents as the opportunities presents itself. It is considerably cheaper, but does take three months on average for a parcel to reach its destination. The dock workers strike until the end of September means it is unsurprising that not all the parcels have yet reached their destinations, but Rix refutes Lendenfeld's assertion that only person has received his parcel, as they have had acknowledgements from others.

Rix reserves the question of presenting a copy to Graf Grundaker-Wurmbrand for the Officers on Thursday. He points out that Lendenfeld has not yet paid for his blocks, and Graf's friendship with him seems insufficient reason for presentation of a copy.

In response to the request for specific cases in which Lendenfeld knew the people had not received copies, he was able to supply only three cases which Rix is investigating. Rix bemoans the fact that he has already written 20 letters on the matter.
