TitleCopy letter from Michael Foster, to Dr Main, Room 46 Jacobson Buildings, Denver, Colorado
Date8 November 1889
DescriptionFoster remarks that he does not understand the delay about the telescope, but will contact Captain Abney at once and encourge him to write to Main. He also reports that the Royal Society Council have gratefully accepted his kind offer, and voted to contribute a sum from the Society's funds to complete and erect the telescope.

A postscript notes that Abney's is experiencing a difficult time as his wife died the previous year, and suggests that this may explain his silence.
