DescriptionFoster has the pleasure to inform Gaskell that the President and Council of the Royal Society have awarded him the Royal Medal for his 'researches in Cardiac Physiology and for your important discoveries in the Anatomy and Physiology of the sympathetic nervous system', and it has also been approved by Queen Victoria. Foster hopes that Gaskell will be able to attend the Anniversary meeting of the Society to receive it in person.
