DescriptionHas added Lankester's clause about Minchin and ill health to the memorandum which has now gone for signature together with a duplicate copy which shall be kept. The Treasurer [Alfred Bray Kempe] saw and approved the memorandum but added a clause to the effect that if the Committee terminate Minchin's commission, his service will be deemed to continue until his arrival in England.

Minchin has been authorized to order two Zeiss lenses at £20 each, with two oculars and all the glass apparatus, stains et cetera. He will also need a dissecting microscope. The bills are to be sent to the Society and Geikie will write to Lankester for signature as Chairman of the Committee. All instruments and apparatus purchased by the Society's funds are to remain its property.
